Common questions

Is Scurry Dog just for gundog breeds?
All breeds can take part in Scurry Dog! So long as they are physically able and enjoy the activities.
If you're not sure about your dog's physical ability for any of the games, ask your vet. They may ask you what is involved, you can find the answers about each game here.
What level of training do I need to get started?
The short answer is: the level of training you are currently at is the right level to start.
The mission of Scurry Dog is to get people and their dogs engaged in learning and training together. We want training to be a life-long project and never-ending hobby for you.
So whatever level of ability you are currently at, you can start training for Scurry Dog.

We believe that the best way to train is with others, be it in a class, on a 1-1 basis with your local trainer or with your training buddy, following online resources.

To take part in trials, you will want to have practised meeting the criteria for the level you're aiming for in the game of your choice.
More information about the level criteria coming soon.

Are loud bangs and gunshot included in Scurry Dog?
We want dogs who are worried about bangs to enjoy Scurry Dog, so no loud bangs or gunshot are part of Scurry Dog training or trials.
However, it may happen that loud sudden noises happen in the background, separate from the event, when you're engaged in training or at a trial.
