I’m Vicky, founder of Cymru Dog Training I’m a qualified Scurry Dog Instructor. I live with my husband Jon, our daughter Imogen and our three dogs, Duggee, Rocky and our newest addition, Phoenix 2025. It is safe to say our household runs on muddy boots, dog whistles and more training gear than wardrobe space.
My Scurry Dog journey began with my own high drive dogs, who quickly showed me that exercise alone was never enough. Like many owners, I experienced the frustration of dogs who seemed distracted, independent or not listening. What I learned was that they did not need more control, they needed more purpose a job.
Once I started channeling their natural instincts through structured training, everything changed. Focus improved, recall strengthened and calmness followed. That experience continues to shape me as a handler.
Working alongside my talented doodle, Duggee, reinforced my belief that many doodles carry strong working genetics and truly thrive when given the right outlet. Poodles were originally bred as working dogs, something often forgotten.

We offer Scurry Dog 6 week courses, workshops, 1:1 training and structured social training walks. Our programmes are built around instinct led development.
Our training is structured, progressive and designed to build measurable results. We focus on developing strong foundation skills that give dogs purposeful outlets for their natural instincts while strengthening the partnership between dog and owner.
We believe a fulfilled dog is a happy dog, and our training provides the clarity, structure and purpose dogs need to thrive at home and out in the real world.
